Mr. Nelson began his real estate career in 1983 as a real estate broker. In 1986 he began appraising and was licensed in 1991, when it was mandated by the federal government. In March of 1993 he opened Nelson Appraisal Service as a single man operation and grew to include five full time appraisers as well as supporting staff.

The most current technological advances available to appraisers and their clients are used. PDF and EDI transmission of appraisal reports, digital photos, digital mapping, digital drawings, and digital flood mapping are all utilized in the completion of reports.

Since beginning in 1993, more than 10,000 appraisal reports have been completed including single family residences, multi family units, condominiums, vacant lots and relocation appraisals. Mr. Nelson has been called on to testify as an expert witness on over 100 occasions.
